About Sean Ruday
Sean Ruday writes, speaks, and teaches about best practices in English education. He has taught English and language arts in public and private schools in New York, Massachusetts, and Virginia and is now an assistant professor of English education at Longwood University. His interests include: mentor text use, grammar instruction, critical literacy, and literacy practices that support struggling students. He has written two books that provide teachers with innovative recommendations for teaching the grammatical concepts addressed in the Common Core Standards. His third book, to be released in January 2015, describes ways teachers can use mentor texts to help their students with informational writing.
